Summer Lecture Series: Friends of the Muskoka Watershed

Wednesday July 2 – Friends of the Muskoka Watershed: Muskoka’s Citizen Scientists Reveal Road Salt Hot Spots —Let’s Save the Salt for the Margaritas and Salty Snacks!

Do you know that excessive road salt usage is hurting our lakes? And to make matters worse, our Muskoka lakes are soft water, so the salt does its damage even faster. We need a special solution for our special waters. Friends of the Muskoka Watershed’s SALTYMuskoka project is focused on just that.

Dr. Neil Hutchinson, FOTMW director, will discuss the Muskoka watershed science collected by Friends of the Muskoka Watershed’s Muskoka citizen scientists. Then SALTY Muskoka Project Lead Alesha Breckenridge will share what we can all do to make a difference.

Get a free salt cup, some sale tips and help protect our watershed forever.
