Celebrate like a pioneer with hands-on, themed parties for children aged 5 to 12.
Celebrate with a day of Old Fashioned FUN!
Birthday parties at the Museum can accommodate groups of five or more children from ages 5 to 12. Parties are two hours long and include a guided tour of the Museum. Parties are available throughout July and August, except for Mondays and Tuesdays.
- Teddy Bears’ Picnic
Bring your teddies and dress them up for the day! Bears even get their own name tags. Includes a teddy bear parade and tea party.
- Pioneer Party
Relive the childhood of people long ago. Dress up, play old-fashioned games and make pioneer themed crafts.
- Captain for a Day
A nautical themed day with activities like pin the boat on the map, hat making and boat making. A short session on boat safety is available.
- Bug Brigade
Children will have a chance to make bug masks, explore the museum’s garden, and to make their own bug clip to take home.
Each party is custom-designed around the chosen theme and the children’s ages and the museum is open to special requests.
Time is set aside to open presents and eat cake. Please note: the Museum does not provide food, cake, gifts or treat bags.

The museum has space and staff to accommodate a maximum of 60 children.
There are 12 large, sturdy picnic tables on the island and washrooms on the island, as well as inside the museum. The large and small Port Carling locks are close by and operate throughout the day. There are a number of scavenger hunt activities designed to allow children to independently tour the museum. In the case of inclement weather, the museum can accommodate up to 30 people inside for lunch.
