For more than a century, Port Carling has been known as the “Hub of the Lakes,” connecting trade, tourism, and life on the water in Muskoka. Since 1971, the Muskoka Lakes Association Antique Boat Show has celebrated the region’s rich wooden boatbuilding heritage.
As wooden boats declined with the rise of fibereglass models in the 1960s, enthusiasts began restoring and preserving these classic craft. Today, the Antique Boat Show honours the craftsmanship, history, and community dedication that continue to keep Muskoka’s wooden boat traditions alive for future generations.
