The museum is now the proud owner of the prototype of the Duke ‘Playmate’ motorboat. Designed and built in Port Carling at what was then known as ‘Duke Motor Service’, these well-made, practical wooden craft were a popular family and fishing boat. Powered by a 4 cylinder engine and including a reverse feature, many dozens of these affordable motorboats were built from the early 1930s into the 1950s. This particular boat has been meticulously restored and will be on display in our Marine room for the upcoming 2020 season.
