Summer Lecture Series: Behind-the-Scenes of MLM

Wednesday August 26 — Susan Daglish & Rachael Thiessen — Behind-the-Scenes of the Muskoka Lakes Museum

Ever wondered how the Muskoka Lakes Museum came to be what it is today? Curious about what’s hidden away in our collection storage? Wondering if there are fascinating stories behind the artifacts we preserve? Then this is the lecture for you!

Join long-time volunteer and renowned walking tour guide Susan Daglish, along with MLM’s Manager Rachael Thiessen, for the final lecture of the season as they explore the history of the museum from its earliest beginnings to the present day. We’ll share archival photographs, documents, and artifacts that help tell the story of the museum and the community it represents. Guests will also enjoy a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into our usually restricted collections storage room, where some of our most unique and intriguing pieces are kept.

Don’t miss this special opportunity to discover the stories, people, and collections that make the Muskoka Lakes Museum such an important part of our local heritage.

Admission: $10 general | $8 for museum members.
