The Museum’s season is from the Victoria Day wkd., (May 20, 2017)
to the Thanksgiving wkd., (Oct 7th & 8th, 2017).
During that time we are open Wednesdays to Saturdays 10am to 4pm, and Sundays noon to 4pm. In July and August we are open until 5pm. We are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. (Note – we are open Canada Day and for the August holiday Monday, but closed Victoria Day Monday, Labour Day Monday and Thanksgiving Monday)
2017 admission rates
$2.50 – adult
$2.00 — senior, (60+)
$2.00 — student
$8.00 — family, (2 adults and their dependent children)
Children 5 years old and under are FREE
(Group rates for 10 or more are $2.00 per person.)
The museum is fully accessible, except for the second floor of the pioneer cabin, where access may be difficult.
Directions and parking
The museum is located on James Bartleman Island Park, which is between the 2 locks in the centre of Port Carling. There is no parking nor vehicle access on the island. However, free parking is available behind the library, at the community centre, and along the main street. The island is accessed by a footbridge – follow the big, blue signs.

NEW! The museum has recently acquired a golf cart to help visitors with mobility problems access the museum.
