Muskoka is a wilderness destination, (and always has been) — do you agree? Our 2019 feature exhibit in our Catto gallery will explore this theme using a variety of related artifacts and images from past eras to demonstrate Muskoka’s true wilderness character. Be sure to come in this season and discover what has, (and still does) define Muskoka’s wild side.
In 2017 we expanded the First Nations display in our 1st gallery, featuring the original Anishinaabe presence in the region, as well as highlighting the First Nations history since European contact. The Gallery now features a model of a wigwam, 2 birch bark canoes, furs & hides, quill work, authentic First Nations leather jacket & moccasins, and so much more! More additions are planned for 2018 — be sure to come by to see these.
